Stainless steel 301 is an austenitic stainless steel (16–18% Cr, 6–8% Ni) that offers excellent work hardening properties, high strength, and good corrosion resistance. It is non-magnetic when annealed but becomes magnetic when cold-worked, and is commonly used in the production of springs, automotive parts, aerospace components, and household goods.
Features:
- Hard machining capability Due to its lower Ni and Cr content compared to 304, stainless steel 301 gains very high hardness through cold working, allowing for greater tensile strength.
- Corrosion resistance Withstands corrosive environments equivalent to 304, performs well at ambient temperatures, but is not recommended for harsh chemical environments due to susceptibility to carbide precipitation.
- Durability and flexibility Withstands strong impact, highly elastic, especially suitable for springs.
- Processing Easy to weld, cut, and form well in the annealed condition.
- Heat resistance Stable heat resistance up to about
Main application:
- Industry Truck frames, train cars, aircraft components, conveyor belts.
- Home appliances Knives, scissors, blender blades, kitchen utensils.
- Architecture Window frame, decoration.
- Spring Springs, elastic steel sheets.
- Beauty toolsFile, tweezers
